Accessibility

Accessibility is a fundamental aspect of good website design, allowing for the information we provide to reach visitors to the site quickly and easily.

According to WC3's Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), "Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the Web, and that they can contribute to the Web."

The Acas website has successfully met the Royal National Institute of Blind People's (RNIB) "Surf Right" accreditation, demonstrating that it has a high level of website accessibility best practice in place. Please note that the RNIB Surf Right accreditation excludes the publications and e-learning microsites, which are currently under development.

In developing this site, Acas has endeavored to make this site as accessible as possible and as user friendly as possible for those with disabilities. All templates used in developing the pages on this site have been designed to deliver HTML content in accordance with the WAI Priority 2 (AA) guidelines. The site has been designed to cater for browsers Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and Mozilla 5 and above, on PC and Mac platforms, and degrade gracefully on platforms that do not conform to the HTML 4.0 standard.
